Custom-designed toe kicks - We built this cabinet to match the base
moulding that the contractor was running in all the rooms of the
house. It required a custom height toe kick & the bottom
rails built 2-1/2" high. The contractor then painted the base
mould on-site, to match the pre-painted cabinets. Detail below
the base mould was cut through, exposing the backer toe kick which was
attached to the cabinet. (pic #24f)

So that the base moulding could be installed correctly, we extended the
cabinet leg on the left, down to the floor, which allowed the contractor
to nail the moulding onto that leg & thus stabilize it from the
front. Contractor eventually did a "cut-through"
front base mould to get the look in the previous photo. (pic #080)

This island was shipped to the job site pre-painted and pre-assembled, so
that all the contractor had to do what attach it to the floor & then
install his own base mould.. (pic #010s)

What to do with hard to use spaces? In this remodel we had ackward
spacing left, so we used the extra 9" width for a spice rack.

Again, clumsey left-over space was used up by installing a pull-out spice
rack. (pic #026f)

What to do with those narrow & deep space above the Refer?
In this case we installed a flip-up door that allows cookie sheet storage
on the flat. Other times we've installed drawers that
pull out and are accessible from the sides, with the panel attached to the
drawer. (pic #029)

Closer view of that flip-up facing above the refer. Also note that
the drawer & the refer panel are all built as one large unit, so that
we didn't leave unsightly joints. (picture #030).

opens (pic #046)

Custom combined cabinets means not having unsightly joints between
boxes. This is part of a large peninsula that we shipped to the job
in one section. (pic #043)

Normally we make Oven Cabinets 26" deep so that countertops tuck in
behind the oven. In this case we left the oven cabinet flush with
the base cabinets, and it left the counter extending beyond the oven
cabinet. (pic #060)

In this case the client wanted a liquor drawer, which we stained to match
the exterior of the cabinets. (pic #019f)
